An invite to a Kendra Scott event? Sign me up! That’s what I told my friend, Melissa from Adventures of Frugal Mom, when she asked if I’d be interested in going. I’ve been a long time fan of Kendra Scott jewelry. I pick up the occasional piece whenever I find it on sale. These turquoise earrings from last year’s collection are still a favorite!
The Kendra Scott store in Durham was where the January triFABB meet-up was held. Although the weather forecast was calling for freezing rain, we bundled up and chanced the drive. Actually, Melissa always takes a chance when she rides with me, even when the weather isn’t an issue. Just ask her about the few moments were were air-bound when I didn’t see the speed bump….
You can read about Kendra Scott here. Her company focuses on family, fashion, and philanthropy. I love that her company gives back. During our triFABB event, Kendra Scott donated 20% of all purchases to Transforming Hope Ministries. So, how could I not make a purchase? I was morally obligated to make a purchase….and although I’m on a tight budget, I didn’t feel guilty. I considered it a separation gift to myself.
After our drive through the rush hour traffic and the unexpected speed bump, I very much welcomed a glass of champagne. Champagne makes everything better, as do tasty treats. Calories don’t count at events. For real.
Of course, there were lots of opportunities to try on the jewelry. Although there were several delicate pieces, I always favor the larger statement pieces.
Of course, I made a purchase. I’ve always loved attention to detail and Kendra Scott never disappoints. Everything is always beautifully wrapped and bagged and each piece comes with a protective pouch. Those things make a girl feel special.
Since I wear so much black, brown, and grey during the fall and winter, I chose to purchase the earrings and necklace in orange. So far, they have been very versatile and coordinate with so many of the things I already own. I love it when I make a good purchase! Since the large earrings are heavy, I bought a pack of the Lobe Wonder stickers that reduce the weight of the earrings. Amazing! They really work! Now, I won’t have to worry about my earlobes stretching to my shoulders. Stretched-beyond-belief earring holes are not a good look for anyone.
After shopping, Melissa and I headed next door to the Cheesecake Factory for salads and more girl time before heading home. I’ve decided that there can never be enough girl time. I encourage you to check out Kendra Scott online if you can’t visit the store. If you are a blogger near the triangle area, definitely look into joining the triFABB community! I had a ball with these girls!
