I’m one of those who likes New Year’s resolutions. If you like them also, we are probably in the minority as resolutions are now considered passe.
Whatever.
I love resolutions and fresh starts.
I love resolutions because I love a good challenge. I also like to look back and know that I made the previous year count. In the past, I wasted a lot of my life because of zero motivation and even less planning. I now give myself grace with my past because I dealt with depression for many of those years. Sadly, those are years I’ll never get back. Instead of mourning over my lost years, I consciously choose to look ahead so that I can constantly better myself and my life. Did I mention that I love resolutions?
I was pretty successful with the resolutions I made last year. However, I have learned that there is an art to making resolutions. Resolutions must be achievable. You have to come up with a doable plan in which to accomplish the resolutions. Break down the goals and make a plan of attack. Take your time and enjoy the process of achieving the broken-down goals. Celebrate the small victories! Also, you have to be invested in those resolutions. That means you have to want to do the work. If you follow those suggestions, your resolutions will be successful, too.
In trying to think of my word for 2024 (which is a new approach for me), I ran across the word “elevate”. It spoke to me. It may have been that glass of champagne, but I swear I heard that word out loud.
~I made a list of things I want to elevate for 2024~
ELEVATE health (by starting with the Dry January Challenge)
ELEVATE relationships (with inspirational reading and actual conversations)
ELEVATE enjoyment (being in the moment and living consciously)
ELEVATE my standards (by not wasting money on sub-par crapola)
ELEVATE my finances (sticking to a budget to save money for a trip)
ELEVATE my routines (setting time to blog/beauty routines/chores )
ELEVATE my mindset (to have a more positive attitude/ growth mindset)
I’m so excited to ELEVATE 2024!
I spent the New Year celebrating at home- my favorite place to be on New Year’s Eve. We took the pictures, laughed, and made it fun! I can’t wait to document all of the things I will learn this year and all of the goals I’ll reach!
