Have you ever made a bucket list? A bucket list is a wishlist of things you hope to accomplish. Bucket lists are intended to help you feel inspired.
Because, sometimes, it’s hard to feel inspired. Life gets busy and before we know it, we are in a rut. We are just barely surviving…..sometimes without joy.
I’m the kind of person who is happiest when I have things in which to look forward. I have more motivation to push through chores and tough times when I have fun things planned. And fun activities bring my friends and family closer together because we are making memories.
On Friday evening, I took a few minutes to make a fall bucket list. After struggling on Canva for a hot minute trying to make one myself, I opted for a cute editable one on Etsy. I can’t take any credit for the design, but purchasing a template helped an artist and made my life a little easier. Here’s the link to the printable. There are so many other options, too. It was super easy to use!
On Saturday, I checked the first thing off of my list when I attended an NC State football game. Honestly, I added the game to my bucket list because I already knew that I was going and was having a hard time finding enough activities to fill the template’s slots. I didn’t add it because it was actually something I wanted to do……
Since I don’t love football games, I had a very sucky attitude about going. Somehow, having it on my bucket list made me view it differently. I was determined to have a decent, better-than-sucky time, complete with pictures. Until yesterday, I’ve been very slack on documenting my activities…quite possibly because there have been no activities.
And a very surprising thing happened at the game. I had a really good time! I enjoyed socializing and enjoyed the excitement around me.
Here are a few #gopackgo pictures…
We were a bit late to the tailgating ( totally my fault for being determined to do my outside chores before leaving.) I had to paint my nails in the car, which was not the ideal situation. Although there were no spills, I wouldn’t recommend it if you are wanting your nails to look nice.
I did have a chance to wear my new earrings! I purchased them earlier in the year as I predicted that a game day would be in the future. Here’s a link! There were several different style options and they were super-light and easy to wear all day. My favorite Arcteryx dress is linked here. It’s lightweight and doesn’t wrinkle. Technically, it’s an athletic dress! The Quay sunnies I’m wearing are my favorite. I even have them in tortoise. You can find them here. There are on sale for 20 % off and come in so many different colorways.
We took a few pictures when we got there. I stayed behind with the girls to chat and didn’t actually go into the game until halftime. This worked out to be a perfect idea since the games always seem to be so long. I actually downloaded a book to read during the game before I got there…. true story. But I didn’t need it. That doesn’t mean I knew what was going on with the game, but I pretended and cheered when Eric told me to do so.
As proved by the pictures, I had a really good time and even asked if I could go back. Totally shocking, even to myself! Earlier in the week when I was fussing about going to the game (because I had so much to do on Saturdays), he told me that having a good attitude was everything. I probably rolled my eyes, thinking that he didn’t have nearly as much to do as me. But he was right. And he’s usually always right. The right attitude can change any situation.
Not only did I check something off my bucket list, but I also had a much-needed attitude check. Go make yourself a bucket list. Include some things that are a bit of a challenge. Most importantly, have a good attitude and find joy.
