Rain, rain, rain…
My mind and body desperately need sunshine. Enough of this gray, dreary weather, please! Rain should not be allowed on holiday weekends.
Despite the gray days, February has been a month full of love and heart emojis. ❤️ Emojis always have the potential to brighten a day. I’ve decided that there are two types of people in this world- those who use emojis in texts and those who don’t. I’m not sure how I ever managed to convey emotions without emojis. 🤷🏻♀️🤔 I’m fortunate to have married an emoji guy. When I was dating, if a guy didn’t use emojis in his text, I knew that he was not for me.
Since this month has been full of hearts ❤️ and love, here are five of my Valentine favorites….
1// A Galentine’s Day Party- I gathered a small group of friends for a friendship celebration. I see “Galentine’s Day” actually becoming a traditional yearly thing for me. Whether single, married, or somewhere in-between, girl relationships are important and should be celebrated.
2// Heart-Shaped Biscuits– When I returned from teaching an art class, I found a special treat on my desk. There is NOTHING like a Bojangles BoBerry biscuit. I haven’t had one in years, so I indulged. And it was…
So. Darn. Good.
I ate every crumb without guilt. I’m pretty sure that the heart shape made it even more tasty. I’m grateful for our administrative staff and their thoughtful treats.
3// A Sunday Crafternoon- One Sunday afternoon, my mom, my sister, Holly, and I got together to make festive Valentine’s Day clay earrings. We felt super productive and no earrings or extremities were burned in the process. We sold a few pairs of our earrings and are hoping to host a jewelry-making party soon.
4// My Cricut- This is a relationship that is definitely strengthening. I made my first shirt and was super excited about it. I’m glad I persevered and didn’t give up on the Cricut, although I was extremely tempted to throw it into the trash. I wish I had more time to use it because I’m now hooked.
5// A Sweet Surprise- How super cute is this succulent?! One of my sweet students gifted it. I can’t kill it and it contains no calories. It was such a perfect and thoughtful Valentine’s Day gift. It will adorn my desk and will be treasured always!❤️
Have a most wonderful, safe holiday weekend. Love, send someone an emoji, and find a way to create your own sunshine. ❤️☀️
