Stomp ’til ya drop….
That was us a few Saturdays ago. We’re always up for an adventure and Duplin’s Harvest Fest Wine Adventure didn’t disappoint!
Actually, we nearly missed the wine adventure. I won’t go into details, but someone forgot we had tickets. I found him in the garage, working on his old car. I had to drag him away, kicking and screaming…
Actually, I remained calm and slowly walked away. (I’ve surprisingly gotten very good at this.) I began the countdown as I saw him close the garage door and jog towards the house….(insert laughing emoji)
But whatever it took to get us there was worth it. It was a fantastic day! Although we were a bit late, we joined the grape-picking party which was already in full swing. In a matter of minutes, we’d both picked half a plastic grocery bag’s worth each.
Next, we wine sampled wine in the beautiful chapel. We tasted all of the newly released holiday wines, including this fall’s Pum’kin. Pum’kin was my favorite! It had hints of cinnamon and pumpkin. We purchased a couple of bottles for our upcoming Halloween festivities.
Last, we stomped grapes. Eric compared it to popping eyeballs. But, EWWW! It compared to popping wet bubble wrap to me. I found it to be oddly satisfying.
Lots of laughs, lots of pictures, and lots of memories were made.
If you get the chance to buy tickets for the Duplin Harvest Wine Festival, I definitely recommend it! It was the perfect pre-fall festivity! A Saturday afternoon with a glass of wine is time well spent.
