Happy Wedding Wednesday!
It’s probably not really a thing, but I’ll pretend.
It’s such a fun time to be engaged! When I was engaged in 1995, I don’t remember having the wedding shows or any of the new traditions that have made this engagement so much fun. I have very few pictures of that engagement because it just never occurred to me to take pictures. It wasn’t convenient! There was no Pinterest or Instagram from which to get ideas. I can’t even remember even using the internet often back then. I definitely couldn’t have imagined that cell phones would eventually have the capability in which to browse the internet or to take photos. I’m pretty sure my mind was blown when I bought my first flip phone! Wedding planning has changed and this time, I’m documenting and embracing it all the new traditions.
I hadn’t heard of proposal boxes until I saw them on Pinterest. I was instantly intrigued! I knew I had to have them. I’m sharing the things I included in my boxes in the hope it will help the newly engaged girls out there.
The first thing I did after booking our venue, was to assemble my bridesmaid proposals. I hope the girls had just as much fun receiving the boxes as I did assembling and gifting.
First, if you aren’t so much the crafty person, there are some great pre-made boxes on Etsy. Etsy has been my go-to for finding all the bridal things. You can find some great pre-made boxes here.
I found the boxes on Amazon. They are sturdy and with a magnetic closure and I love the touch of gold! The bridesmaid boxes came in a set, but I purchased a “Matron of Honor” box separately.
My Matron of Honor box was a little different from the others.
The Matron of Honor box for my sister contained a champagne flute, along with a mini bottle of my favorite LaMarca prosecco. The adult women needed larger white glasses, found here. I originally purchased a box of white wayfarer-style glasses, but they were a bit on the small side. These worked perfectly! I chose the white trinket tray because I knew it would look nice in her bathroom.
The Maid of Honor boxes for my two nieces, Eric’s daughter, and my best friend were a little different. I found these cute bridesmaid glasses on Amazon, as well as the green trinket trays. I thought the younger girls would appreciate the pretty color! The teens had smaller white sunglasses, bought in a pack. I have a ton of those left.
Included in all of the boxes was Stella and Dot jewelry (of course!) You can contact me to purchase those. There are lots of great options!
I also included cookies from Southern Sugar Bakery. How cute are these? I plan to have them make monogrammed cookies for our wedding favors. The cookies came individually packaged with a handwritten note. I would definitely recommend this bakery!
I found the white paper filling at the Dollar Tree. I used one bag per box.
Stay tuned as I create the bridesmaid gifts and hotel welcome bags…..
I can’t wait to spend my special day with all the people I love!
