If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I was recently invited to be on the Forever Bridal Wedding Shows 2019 Panel Of Brides + Newlyweds.
What is the 2019 Panel of Brides + Newlyweds?
It is a panel devised of 10 couples- some are engaged, and others are newlyweds. The couples meet with vendors to share their experiences with planning and finding vendors. The goal is to help vendors better know what clients are looking for when choosing vendors.
How Did We Get That Fun Opportunity?
Eric and I visited bridal shows. Eric and I joke that we have been like wedding crashers- except that we are bridal show crashers. Ever since the first show, we’ve both been obsessed. The shows are so much fun! I’m assuming that our name somehow made its way onto some type of list. I received the information by email and immediately filled out a brief application. When I got my invite a few weeks later, I was ecstatic!
The Highlights From Our Experience
The event was held at the Sheraton in Raleigh. Parking was easier than expected, so we had time to grab a quick glass of bubbly at Jimmy V’s in the Sheraton lobby to celebrate.
The Welcome Reception
Upon arrival, we enjoyed appetizers and the bacon bar was a favorite! We were able to mingle with the vendors and other participants involved before dinner. I wore my favorite Victoria Emerson bracelet to the event. I purchased it thinking it would be great for bridal functions. If you sign up for emails, they have sales very often. It’s definitely been a favorite!
The Dinner
Each couple was instructed to sit at a separate table with other vendors. Every few minutes, the couples changed tables so that each couple could meet with every vendor. It’s a bit like I would imagine speed dating to be. The food was fantastic and we enjoyed meeting the vendors.
Sharing Our Experiences
At the end of dinner, everyone gathered together. A cube was thrown randomly. As a person caught the cube, they shared their favorite tip about wedding planning. I shared that it was so important to visit the wedding shows with your partner. Not only is a bonding experience, but it also enables you to find vendors in which you really connect- much more so than booking online. Planning can be overwhelming, and visiting the shows truly helps!
Before we left, we were given swag bags full of goodies. There was even a tie included for the guys!
In conclusion, my most important wedding planning tip is to do all the things. Go to bridal shows and events. Take lots of pictures. Drink the bubbly.
Enjoy this special time in life!
Thanks so much to Forever Bridal Wedding Shows for inviting us to be a part of this special event.
