Pool issues….that’s a constant theme in my life.
Over the weekend, we discovered that the pool was losing water. However, we didn’t notice it before we filled the pool with water for two days straight. I’m trying to avoid a heart attack by preparing myself for the shock of next month’s water bill. It’s not going to be pretty. While I was working, my dad found someone to check out the pool situation. As always, Daddy to the rescue! Three tears were found and repaired. For those of you thinking you might want a pool, just know up front- it’s a money pit. It’s fantastic when it’s working smoothly, but there hasn’t been a summer when it hasn’t had some type of large expense. But thankfully, the tears didn’t happen during the summer. And I’m grateful that I didn’t have to replace the liner. But what’s life without a few struggles? We all have them.
Here are my favorite five things from this week…
1// New Nail Polish- This new nail polish was from my Ipsy bag this week….It’s a great in-between season neutral shade. I’ve discovered that if I put a coat of nail polish or clear polish on every morning while I drink my coffee and read my devotional, my polish stays nice looking for a few days longer and it hardens much faster than applying two coats at once. That’s my helpful hint for you all!
2// My Parents– From mowing the lawn to fixing stuff, my parents are always there for me. I’m grateful that my dad was there to make the phone calls and handle the pool repairs while I worked. I don’t know how I’d manage without their help!
3// This Daily Devotional– I don’t make it to church as often as I should. However, I do read a devotional every single morning. This app is my favorite. It keeps me inspired to become the best version of myself possible. The world needs more encouraging words and more spirituality.
4// Mr. Little– He keeps me entertained. When I try to take a picture of him, he pounces onto my phone. There was a time I couldn’t imagine loving another cat. Smokey set the bar high for cats! But here I am, loving this baby with my whole heart. I’ll forever be grateful to my friend Holly for finding him and for recognizing my need.
5// A Surprise Donut– I’m still on my donut kick. Our custodian brings them to school and shares with us. I can never resist a donut! Whereas the chocolate cream filled donuts used to be my favorite, I now favor the chocolate covered donuts with sprinkles. Sprinkles are just so cheerful, don’t you think? I truly believe that surprise donuts have no calories.
Remember to find some things in which to be grateful this week.
Stayed tuned to see the highlights of my weekend activities…..Look out world, my high school besties and I are heading to Myrtle Beach!
