I’m so darned grateful these days.
Every time I blow dry my hair or lift a coffee cup, I remember how difficult life was a few months ago without the use of my right arm. I’ve discovered that if you can draw eyebrows with your left hand, you are set for success in life.
And when I look at my precious new black kitty, I remember the painful loss of Smokey this past summer. I didn’t think I could ever love anything again because the pain of his loss was so intense. But it’s funny how life works. The moment you take things for granted, something bad happens that throws you into a state of extreme gratefulness when things return to normal. I’m learning that the bad times are only temporary. Because here I am over here, feeling happy.
Here are my favorite five things from this week…
One// Little- I had to be without my precious baby, Little, overnight this week when he had surgery. I missed his nightly snuggles. I remember when Smokey used to sleep between my legs at night. After Smokey died, I never thought I’d experience that again. But- Little does exactly the same thing. There are so many things about Little that are so much like Smokey. This bright-eyed cat makes my heart happy. I’m so glad he’s back home, doing very well.
Two// A Note From A Student- A sweet note is
Three// Glitter Nail Polish- I have a confession. I’m obsessed with glitter nail polish. Yes, I do realize that I’m 46. I probably should be into more “mature” things. I bought this gold glitter poslish to wear over red polish during the Christmas holidays. It’s from the Dollar General. I’m not even kidding! Right now, I love it over this neutral polish from Walmart. I save on many things and splurge on others. Life’s about balance, right?
Four//A New Laptop- My ten-year-old HP bit the dust this week. Bless its
Five// Walmart Grocery Pick-Up- This is, without a doubt, the best thing ever! Grocery shopping is such a time suck! Not only do I not have to deal with finding the groceries and waiting in an endless line, but I’m also not tempted by impulse items. I actually save money. And it’s as close to a personal shopper as I’ll ever get. It feels like a bit of luxury in my life. If you haven’t tried it, you must!
I challenge you to find the good things in this week! Happy Weekend to you!
