Lately, life has been good to me.
FInally. It’s about time!
And yes, I’m saying this although I’m once again in the grip of another nasty virus. I’m the girl who never gets sick. I’m blaming it on my wrist surgery. Although I can’t find any scientific studies that surgery weakens the immune system, I just know it’s true for me. You should see the amount of hair I lost after the surgery. Yikes! Anesthesia is not kind.
But on to happier things…
I’m sure you all have seen my new baby, Little. He is absolutely the greatest joy! You may be wondering how I acquired precious Little. Honestly, it was just fate…
Hello, Mr. Little
After the loss of Smokey, there was such a tremendous void in my life. After his passing, I knew I wanted to eventually provide another loving home to a needy cat. On November 6, I became a cat mom again. My friend, Holly, brought “the perfect kitten” home to me. My life changed on that day. My life is now chaotic. There are cat toys from one end of the house to the other and I’m sure all of my furniture will get a fresh shredding. But it feels so good to be needed and to have the constant activity in my house. I’ll not complain. I feel alive again. I thank God everyday for gifting me with another awesome new family member.
I’ve decorated for Christmas (already)….
I did put my Christmas decorations up over the long Veteran’s Day weekend. This has become a new tradition since I’ve been single. My weekends are so busy with yard work chores that my only time to do it is on that long weekend. But I will not light my trees until after Thanksgiving. I’m really trying to hold off that long…..I’m just hoping Little doesn’t tear it down before then. I’ve seen him actually dive into the tree from the top of a chair. True story.
I’ve made time to enjoy my fireplaces…
This past week, I’ve really enjoyed having a fire in my fireplaces. Before, I was so worried about my budget that I rarely used my fireplaces. This year, I put a little money into a gas savings account each month. Now, I have enough in my account that I can enjoy without worrying about an extra bill. I wish I’d been as good with budgeting my money long ago!
I started my Christmas shopping. Yay!
On Saturday, I got a few things marked off my Christmas shopping list. What’s better than shopping at home with a glass of yummy? They have some great deals happening now! As you shop, you should totally shop through Ebates. I just revecied a $25 dollar check in the mail- just for shopping through that site. That’s free money!
Thanks for letting me share. I’m hoping that life is treating you well and that you have a fantastic Thanksgiving week ahead!
