It was wonderful to have a long weekend! Thank you to our people serving in the military and all of the families that make sacrifices, allowing their loved ones to protect our country. We have a large percentage of military children at our school, so I truly have an appreciation for the strength of our military and their families!
As I was reading Tina’s latest blog from Carrots ‘N’ Cake, I thought I would share some of the highs and lows from my Memorial Day weekend.
Playing in the mud…. Actually, we were trying to make channels in the mud to help the water drain from our future pool. My nieces and nephews jumped into the pool to help and a huge mud-fight occurred. This mud-hole was the king of all mud-holes! I’m not one to get dirty. In fact, I’m sure I have ever never been in a mud-hole. But I admit it! Having the mud squish between my toes was fun. My favorite thing was hearing the kids’ laughter. I hope that they made great memories!
Being inappropriate…We were told that playing in the mud was very inappropriate. My feelings were a little hurt, but I see the humor in it now. I didn’t realize that there was a Code of Appropriateness for the the back yard. Really, we do live in the South and a bit of “redneck fun” happens on occasion. Simply, life gave us mud and we made mud pies.
A date with Ashton…After cleaning the house, Ashton suggested that we take the Red Devil to the winery. I donned my red and blue in honor of the holiday weekend, and headed to Hinnant Vineyards for an afternoon of wine tasting. Wine tasting was probably inappropriate for a Sunday afternoon, but at that point, I was on a role of inappropriateness. I was feeling slightly rebellious.
We were in serious need of groceries for dinner. So, we had to make a stop at Walmart. Am I the only person who doesn’t have patience for that place? Not to mention, the horrendous cart that creaked, squeaked, and fought us every step of the way.
Webber Goldentoes…While at the winery, I bought the most fantastic frog for the upstairs bar in our house. Having a bar in your own house is extremely inappropriate. The frog, whom my niece named Webber Goldentoes, will remind me that sometimes, being inappropriate brings great joy to life. Just look at Webber Goldentoes! He is sipping wine naked while sitting in a very inappropriate manner, and there is a look of complete bliss on his face. Mr. Goldentoes, you are my hero!
I was (a little) inappropriate this weekend. I made memories with my nieces and nephew, I had a much needed date with my husband, and I found inspiration in Mr. Webber Goldentoes. I have realized that it is never inappropriate to enjoy life!
Have you ever done anything inappropriate? Did you have regrets? I’d love for you to share!

I absolutely love your inappropriateness…

Thank you, Tracy! I think that I will try to incorporate inappropriateness a little more often!
Sheree
My child had the most fun in the mud and cannot wait to go back to play with Libby and Evie! So I don’t know about inappropriate but it was surely a memory she will never, ever forget!

Thank you so much, Sheree! We enjoyed her so much. She has the best manners and is so sweet!
