“Double, double, toil and trouble. Fire burn, and cauldron bubble.” I have no clue why I retained this random information from Shakespeare’s Macbeth, but one of my past English teachers would be impressed. I love all things related to Halloween. It’s not that I’m morbid, by any means. I’m an elementary teacher, and we celebrate all holidays with equal enthusiasm. Holiday enthusiasm is a requirement for the job, much like holding the actual degree in education. In an effort to find the perfect signature Smokey’s Bar Halloween cocktail, we tried a martini that I found somewhere on the internet. After a bit of tweaking (not to be confused with twerking; you can find the definition here), this is the potion we concocted…..
Smokey’s Candy Cane Martini
1 1/2 oz Smirnoff Whipped Cream Vodka
3 oz Sweet and Sour Mix
2 oz Pineapple Juice
1 oz Grenadine
Whipped cream for topping
Combine Smirnoff Whipped Cream Vodka, Sweet and Sour Mix, and Pineapple Juice in a shaker with ice.
Shake, shake, shake!
Pour mix into a martini glass.
Slowly pour Grenadine into the mix so it settles at the bottom.
Top with whipped cream.
* This is, by no means, a healthy cocktail! When I actually make these for Halloween, I will use the Baja Bob’s Sugar Free Sweet and Sour Mix, fresh pineapple juice with spenda, and fat-free 5-calorie whipped cream.
While on the subject of Halloween things, I received my Halloween Julep Box this past week. I couldn’t wait to peek inside! Here were the frighteningly awesome products…
I loved the neutral lip gloss! The texture was nice, not sticky. It’s perfect for a less-makeup look or to balance a smokey eye.
I have already tried the maroon color. It’s perfect for fall! Although I like the blue, it’s not within in my comfort zone. If I feel adventurous, I’ll give it a try.
You can get your own Julep box here! For extra savings, use the coupon code FREEFALL!
Give the Candy Corn Martini a try. As for Smokey, he’ll just continue to munch on my fall decorations!
Have a great week!
